  • The Discounts for Carers offers a Cashback Card that can be used anywhere in the world that displays the Visa Acceptance Mark. The card is a pre-paid visa debit, NOT a credit card. The registration process for the cashback card is quick, easy, and there are no credit checks involved.

    An initial top-up of £5 will be required to finalise the registration process. After this initial payment, there is a £10 minimum top-up amount and a £1,000 maximum.

    Once you have finished the registration process, your card will be sent in the mail and you can start using it once you have activated it. To top up your card, you can go to your online account at  https://www.spree-card.com/DCASPR/Home/Info   Alternatively, you can download the Spree App from the App store.

    Please note that the Cashback Card is a pre-paid debit card, NOT a credit card.

  • If you are a current employee within the Care Sector and have access to a work email address or a letter from the DWP that proves you are entitled to cares allowance, then you are entitled to a cashback card. The card cannot be redeemed by any other method at this time.

  • Unfortunately, our cashback card is not available to retired members of staff at this moment. We would love to open the cashback card to retired members. However, there are supplier agreements in place that prohibit us from doing so. We are working hard on this so we can try to include retired members of staff soon.

    In the meantime, as a member of our scheme, you can take advantage and make fantastic savings through our website.

Registering for a Card

  • Absolutely! If you work in the Care Sector and have a current work email, or, if you have a letter from the DWP that proves that you are entitled to cares allowance, then you can sign up and start earning once you receive your card.

  • To sign up, you must have a valid/current work email address. If you are currently employed but do not have an email address, please contact your IT / HR department to get one.

  • The cashback card is completely free for the first 12 months. After the 12 months have passed, there is an annual fee of £2.99 per card. Please note that an initial top-up of £5 will be required when registering.

  • Your partner or anyone in the same household aged 13 or over can get the card. All you have to do is tick the "Would you like an additional card" box when registering. Alternatively, you can order an additional card via your online account.


    Additional card fees apply.

  • Both cardholders would share one account. This means both cardholders can make top-ups. However, both cards will be sent separately and need to be activated by the individual cardholder. Once both cards have been activated, you can start using the card and earning cashback.

  • After completing the registration process, you should receive your card within 7 estimated working days. However, please allow up to 14 working days for your card to arrive before reaching out and contacting us. This timeframe also applies to any reissued cards that have been expired, lost or stolen.

  • There are no credit check or lengthy application processes when signing up for the cashback card. All you need to do is fill in an online form. Once you have done this, we may use any personal information to conduct an appropriate anti-fraud check.

    Any personal information provided may be disclosed to a credit reference or fraud prevention agency, who may keep documentation of that information.

  • A KYC (Know Your Customer) is a process that is used to help verify and identify our members. Why is this used? This process is used to facilitate compliance with Anti-Money Laundering laws (AML). It is also used to protect our system from accidentally facilitating criminal activities.

Using Your Card

  • You can use your cashback card anywhere that displays the Visa Acceptance mark, which is at over 36 million retailers worldwide. The cashback card operates the same as a Visa debit card. The only difference is you will earn cashback when using the card at qualifying retailers. Smart!

  • No. You will not be charged a transactional fee when using the Cashback Card in the UK. However, if you plan on using the card outside of the UK, then some charges may be applicable. Learn more by heading over to our Terms and Conditions.

  • It can. Much like a Visa Debit card, you can use the Cashback Card when shopping online and in-store. It is worth noting that some of our retail partners do not offer cashback when shopping online.

  • Firstly, you will need to make sure that your card is topped up and ready to use. Once you have funds on your card, you can start spending online and in-store at our retailer partners. When you shop at one of our 35+ retailers, you will earn cashback on your purchases.

    Any cashback you acquire will be credited directly to your account. Typically, this process will take around 5-7 days. However, please note that there is an exception when shopping at Sainsbury's. After shopping at Sainsbury's, cashback may take 3-5 weeks, as their calculating cashback process differs. Where possible, we will always try to credit your account as soon as we are advised of the cashback awarded. Once the cashback has been credited to your account, it will added to your available balance upon your next top up.

  • You can earn cashback at our 35+ qualifying retailers.

    Will I still receive my loyalty points when using the Cashback Card? Absolutely! You can still benefit from loyalty schemes such as Nectar or Advantage when using your cashback card – giving you that extra bit of value when shopping.

  • You can! You can use your card anywhere that accepts prepaid cards and displays the Visa Acceptance Mark. However, please keep in mind that a 2.5% foreign exchange fee will be applied. You can learn more by reading out T&Cs.

  • You cannot use your card to make a cash withdrawal at an ATM. Also, it cannot be used to purchase foreign currency, cash advances, or to receive cashback at the till.

  • Yes, there are a few restrictions. More specifically, gambling and adult-websites are prohibited. If you would like to learn more about the card limitations, please check out the Terms and Conditions.

  • No. Unfortunately, the cashback card cannot be used when buying petrol or non-petrol items that are sold at a petrol station.

  • The list of retailers that offer cashback can sometimes change, so we occasionally add or remove retail partners.

Topping Up Your Card

  • Of course. Once you have completed the registration process, you can head over to the website 24/7. All you will need is your login details (the ones used to create your account) to access your online account.

    Head over https://www.spree-card.com/DCASPR/Home/Info to access your account 24/7. You may also download the Spree App to top up your card, check your cashback earnings and spending as well as your statement.

  • You can use the online account at https://www.spree-card.com/DCASPR/Home/Login or the Spree App 24 hours a day to top-up your card.

    Please note that you cannot top up your Cashback Card at the Post Office, a Paypoint or Payzone.

  • Topping up your card is completely FREE.

    We often suggest that our members set up a regular payment from their debit card to their Cashback Card to keep a positive balance. But that is entirely up to you.

  • To receive cashback, all that is needed to earn cashback is sufficient funds on your card. Then, you shop at one of the 35+ qualifying retailers and earn when you shop. There are no minimum spends or amounts required.

Need Help?

  • Have you forgotten your pin? Not to worry, these things happen. All you have to do is request a PIN reminder through the 'details tab' found on your online account. Alternatively, you can call 01908 303564 and select option 4 for 'forgotten PIN'.

    If you have the Spree App, then you will be sent a PIN reminder via SMS.

  • If your card is lost or stolen, one of the most important things you can do is contact the Cashback Card team. To reach the team, please call 01908 303564 and select option 3 for 'lost and stolen' From here, one of our advisers can support you.

    Alongside contacting our team, you can head over to the Spree App and block your card. This action will immediately prevent any further spend on your account.
